The Prati Piani and Ca’ del Gobbo Trail
Il Giro dei Prati Piani e Ca’ del Gobbo
Itinerary: Castel del Rio – Coniale – Passo del Paretaio – Prati Piani – Ca’ del Gobbo – Cantagalli – Castel del Rio.
Along this trail there are numerous historical points of interest, starting from the famous Alidosi Bridge – in Castel del Rio.
After this bridge it is possible to admire the ruins of Castellaccio di Cantagallo, a defensive structure built in the XIII century by the family Cantagallo, for the defence of Castel del Rio.
From Castel del Rio you take the S.S. Montanara (state Road) and you reach Coniale, from where you’ll take the road for Palazzuolo. Once you have passed the Passo del Paretaio and descended a bit of the way, you turn left for Bibbiana from where you’ll reach the Prati Piani. From there, continue along a white road until Ca' del Gobbo.
You then descend, crossing Fontanelle, the Grano and the Formicaro, until Castellaccio di Cantagallo. The paved road then quickly leads to the Alidosi Bridge and to Castel del Rio.
